Sullivan

The Central Plaza will soon house the Central Plaza Pavilion, a structure built to provide outdoor entertainment and community events to draw in national acts. An aquatic feature will also be an integral aspect of Central Plaza. The uniqueness of an aquatic feature is its ability to be a playground, an observatory, and a timeless attraction. Lastly, Sullivan’s ever-growing Sully Trail System hugs the outskirts of Central Plaza, encouraging exercise and health and wellness, while also connecting the various businesses, parks, and downtown features worth sharing.

The future of Sullivan’s Central Plaza is a proactive and inclusive measure to address the social and economic impacts and challenges of Sullivan County, while also heightening the quality of life, livable communities, and health and wellness concerns and opportunities of the county.

As a region, one of our greatest, collective assets is our outdoor space. West Central Indiana is lined with miles upon miles of trails, stretched across acres of greenspace and parks. In fact, the Wabash Valley pays homage to the region’s largest natural and outdoor feature - the Wabash River. West Central is in a good place, with outdoor recreation becoming increasingly more imperative. As our region continues to grow, tourism will too. Providing outdoor space that is inclusive to age and varying activities will certainly cater to those we wish to welcome to the region.
