Brazil, Ind. – Thrive West Central – Homes for the Future Project, alongside community partners, hosted a check presentation on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, recognizing the completion of the Windbreaker Flats housing project in Brazil, Indiana.
The Windbreaker Flats project transformed the former Windbreaker factory site into 48 new duplex units, bringing much-needed housing opportunities to Clay County. These homes are a significant part of the Homes for the Future Program and have been made possible through the generous funding provided by READI 1.0. This project is a celebration of the investment made by the Wabash River Regional Development Authority (RDA) and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) with support from Mayor Brian Wyndham, Clay County Commissioners, and both City and County Councils. Through these collaborations, Homes for the Future was able to leverage significant private housing investments in the community.
The celebration highlighted the partnerships that made this development possible and reinforced the region’s commitment to addressing housing needs while encouraging growth and economic stability.
