A new face will represent the Wabash River Regional Development Authority. It's someone with strong ties to the Wabash Valley.

On Tuesday, the Vigo County Commissioners announced Jon Ford would step into the role.

Ford recently stepped down as State Senator for Indiana's 38th District. Greg Goode was selected to fill Ford's spot in the statehouse.

"Senator Ford's leadership is second to none in Indianapolis, and know that. We value the relationships he has built regionally and throughout the state and we look forward to him serving us as our RDA appointment, getting things accomplished, and hopefully getting $50 to $75 million in the next round of READI grants," Vigo County Commissioner Chris Switzer said.

The Wabash River RDA includes Clay, Parke, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo Counties.
